Cloudy weissen

Cloudy Peak from upper Lyman lake

Cloudy Peak from upper Lyman lake.

The name. The mountain. Cloudy is perfectly situated on the Lyman lake / Buck creek pass loop, about midway in the loop in the Glacier Peak Wilderness. It offers a great little scramble from cloudy pass with gorgeous views over Lyman lakes, the Entiat range, Glacier Peak and more.  From cloudy pass a 1500′ climb on talus and boulders gives the rewards. Even without the climb, hiking spider meadows and down to Lyman lakes or up to Buck Creek pass are some of the highest rated hikes in the state.

The Beer. Cloudy is our interpretation of an authentic hefeweissen. A natural namesake for the style since it is cloudy from the yeast and wheat protein that remains suspended in the beer.  It is a light hefeweissen where – true to style – the yeast have imparted the majority of the flavor on the beer. Cloudy has a very nice banana character in the aroma shifting to clove notes as it reaches the back of the mouth. Another flavorful light beer to accompany the summer.

ABV: ~4.5%.  Malts: Wheat, pilsne. Hops: Tettnanger, Palisade. German wheat yeast.
