October 7 – Gear for Gals in Pakistan and Beyond: Gender Equality in MENA region Through Women Mountaineers

Join Genevieve Hathaway, documentary photographer and Director of ArchaeoAdventures Women’s Tours, for an exciting discussion on how women mountaineering programs in Pakistan, Afghanistan and other Middle Eastern and North African countries are bringing about greater gender equality through training local women as mountaineers. Learn about the cultural and logistic challenges these programs and their women participants face, the impact they are having on improving gender equality in their countries, and how these young women adventurers are shaping a new generation of women in some of the world’s most dangerous conflict zones.
